The gas entering the ammonia absorption tower is very pale in color; after being treated with ammonia twice, it is released, and white smoke emerges from the chimney with a low temperature of the flue gas. What solutions are available to address this issue? Thank you
When exhaust gases are absorbed by ammonia water, white smoke is produced; this is likely the so-called \"ammonia mist\" phenomenon. It usually results from gas-phase absorption reactions between gaseous ammonia and SO2 serta SO3, resulting in the formation of extremely fine ammonia salts in the form of aerosols. These ammonia salts are very small solid particles that are difficult to capture through absorption processes, and they are carried away with the exhaust gases, thereby creating the white \"ammonia mist\". The main approach to handling this issue is to control the pH value and temperature during the absorption process, as well as the ratio of ammonium bisulfite to sulfurous acid during that process, in order to control and eliminate the \"ammonia mist\" phenomenon at its source.
We have strengthened monitoring at the workstations, conducting analyses of the concentration and specific gravity of the circulating fluid every half hour, and strictly keeping these values within the specified ranges. This approach has proven effective – almost no white smoke is observed.
