Does any marine enthusiast know how to detect chloride ions in alkaline solutions?

If it is very high, it is not easy to analyze; it is recommended to use ion chromatography for analysis. If the concentration of the alkaline solution is not very high, such as below 10%, the ion-selective electrode method can be used; precipitation titration is not recommended (as the salt effect becomes quite significant). If the concentration of the alkali solution is not high and the concentration of chloride ions is high, the precipitation titration method is very suitable.
I was wondering if it’s possible to avoid the silver quantification method? I think it should be possible……

I don’t know the specific method. My idea: Add a certain amount of liquid alkali; use 0.5 g/L of bromophenol blue as an indicator. Titrate with 5 mol/L nitric acid until the solution turns yellow, then titrate with 1 mol/L sodium hydroxide until the solution becomes blue. After that, titrate with 0.23% nitric acid until the blue color disappears, adding 0.5 mL of excess acid. Add 10 drops of diphenylcarbazone, and then titrate with 0.1 mol/L mercuric nitrate until a blue-violet (or light purplish-red) color is achieved. A blank test should also be conducted.
