Dear seniors, my current undergraduate major is Process Equipment and Control. I am currently working as an operator at a large state-owned chemical plant. Dissatisfied with my current situation, I want to change jobs. What certifications do I need to obtain in order to enhance my skills and advance further in this field?
Reply to 1# zwx1985: Work as an instrumentation or automation engineer. Certification is definitely necessary; moreover, it’s important to change to another engineer’s job. I settled for a position as an operator at the undergraduate level.

It depends on the direction you want to take. If you want to work in process management, start by working as an operator; after all, you’re not majoring in process engineering. If you focus on process management without working as an operator, you won’t be able to gain practical experience on the job site, which is detrimental to your future development. If you want to change careers, that’s another matter.
