Judging from the question, it should be D, but one can check whether the centrifugal pump is a type of Froth Pump. and drainage.

This question is easy to understand: a centrifugal pump cannot draw in air. If air is present, it cannot perform work and cannot draw water. Therefore, the only purpose of the foot valve is to ensure that the inlet pipeline of the pump is filled with liquid at the time of startup. It works on the same principle as rural artesian wells, where a ladle of water must be added before pumping water to fill the well pipes.
I think D should be chosen; this is equivalent to providing a tank pump for the centrifugal pump, and the bottom valve in the pipeline of a centrifugal pump is usually a check valve.
