Who can explain what a dead node is? Where is it commonly used? Thank you!
Dry contacts are contacts that are not charged, and they have two states: closed and open. They are used in contrast to \"wet contacts\"; examples include limit switches, etc. In DCS systems, DI signals are typically transmitted as dry contacts at the field level, with the DI cards providing the power. Signals used by instruments for electrical control also employ dry contacts.
