I would like to ask the experienced experts: what type of cylinders are generally used for V-type compressors? Can a double-acting water-cooled type be used?
Mine is a recirculating machine; we don’t use cooling water! Only the gas seal has cooling water! But I think it’s better to use some! I think the reason they don’t use cooling water is that the pressure difference is small, so the work required is minimal! As long as the size of the support ring is adjusted properly, it won’t cause the cylinder wall to get very hot!

When a lot of work is done, cooling is essential to ensure the proper operation of the cylinders; otherwise, they will overheat, which affects their efficiency. As the temperature inside the cylinders rises, the compression coefficient decreases, so it is recommended to use cylinders that are cooled by water. It depends on the role of your compressor within the system; if it is crucial, then a comprehensive auxiliary system is necessary
