There is no phase change in the process fluid, while the fluid on the other side ranges from water (at temperatures below 100 degrees) to water vapor (at temperatures above 100 degrees). From books, I have seen two methods: 1. Divide the heat exchanger into three sections – from water to saturated water, from saturated water to saturated water vapor, and from saturated water vapor to superheated water vapor – calculate the overall heat transfer coefficient for each section separately, determine the area required for each section of the heat exchanger, and thus obtain the total heat exchange area. 2. Calculate the heat transfer coefficients for these three sections separately, take their average as the heat transfer coefficient for the cooling water side, and then determine the area of the heat exchanger. I’m not sure which of these two methods is better in terms of accuracy
Using computer calculations, heat transfer can be divided into many small segments for separate calculation, resulting in high accuracy.

If it was learned from a book, quickly name this author who is causing harm; I’ll go find him to call out his lies!

Method 1 is the correct one; Method 2 is incorrect. It’s better to use software for calculations – it saves time and effort and is also accurate. The time saved can be used to enjoy life
The sensible heat stage and the phase change stage are calculated separately; the first option. The second one I’ve never seen...

Reply to 7#: For ceremony HTRI, HTFS also offers domestic heat exchanger software; HTFS is recommended. A long time ago I wanted to learn HTFS as well, but after two failed attempts at installing this large software, which took a week just to download from eMule, I gave up in frustration and decided to learn the easier-to-install HTRI instead. . .
