Are there any specific regulatory requirements regarding the structure of domestically modified finished oil tank trucks? Are multi-compartment tank trucks structurally connected? Are vent valves also installed on tank trucks, and what are the conditions under which they open?
Structure of oil tank trucks: The tank of an oil tank truck is either elliptical-cylindrical or trapezoidal in shape, and is made from high-quality steel plates. The entire tank can be divided into one compartment or multiple compartments; these compartments can further be divided into sub-compartments. There are holes at the bottom of the intermediate partitions, and reinforcing wave-shaped partitions are welded in the middle of each compartment to reduce the impact of the oil inside the tank during the vehicle’s movement and to increase the tank’s stiffness. To prevent rust, the exterior of the tank is coated with anti-rust paint and decorative paint. A volume indicator is installed in the middle of the side of the oil tank, which allows for direct indication of the volume inside the tank when filling it or transferring oil from it. (Optional) The tank opening is a hole with a diameter of 500 mm, provided for maintenance purposes. The large cover is fastened to the tank mouth gusset plate with bolts, while the small cover is connected to the large cover by a pin and a lug. Turning the handle on the small cover clockwise presses it tightly in place. By reversing and removing the ear flaps, the small cover can be opened; a suction valve is installed on the upper side of the large cover. To ensure that the pressure inside the tank remains roughly equal to atmospheric pressure while the fueling vehicle is in operation, a breather valve is installed on the top cover of the tank. When the oil inside the tank expands due to heat or when fuel is pumped into the tank, the oil level rises and the pressure increases; when the pressure inside the tank exceeds the external pressure by 8 KPA, the upper valve disc of the breather valve opens. When fuel is pumped out of the tank or the oil contracts due to cold, the oil level drops and the pressure decreases; when the pressure inside the tank is 3 KPA lower than the external pressure, the lower valve disc of the breather valve opens. It features functions such as self-priming for oil intake and automatic oil discharge, can pack two to three different specifications of oil, and an optional twin pump is available. The vehicle purchaser must hold a qualification certificate for transporting hazardous materials, while the driver must possess a professional license as well as an escort permit.
