What does the starting value of a valve mean, and why is this starting value required?
My understanding is that ordinary process media exert a force on the valve stem; for example, when closing the valve, we need to overcome this force, and therefore there is a threshold value required to ensure reliable operation of the valve
The operating value of a valve is also referred to as the output force of the actuator. This output force is the force required to overcome the loads, which include unbalanced forces, sealing forces, frictional forces, weight, and so on. The starting value is the sum of all these loads! ! However, usually we simply consider the starting value to be the compressive force exerted by the valve core on the valve seat for sealing, along with the friction force acting on the valve stem! 1
