This just illustrates one point: if the sludge in your oxidation tank is not expanded and the dissolved oxygen level meets the requirements for biological processes, it means that sludge removal from your secondary sedimentation tank is not carried out in a timely manner, as some of the sludge cannot settle under anaerobic conditions. Of course, if there is a problem with the biochemical sludge, it’s necessary to address the root cause; only by identifying the problem can it be solved.

Do you regularly backwash the packing? It’s possible that your BAF is already overloaded:$
