Is installing a heat box at the base of the coke tower equivalent to steam heating? Is the steam supplied continuously, without interruption during coking, empty tower periods, and cold coke operations?
Generally, steam tracing is turned on only at the beginning of the pressure testing, and it is turned off once the coke tower reaches a certain temperature (with the preheating temperature being higher than that of the steam)
Thank you! Doesn’t it turn on when the coke is cold? To mitigate the impact of temperature changes, one can’t lower the temperature too quickly either!
