Should the check valve at the outlet of a reciprocating compressor be a swing type or a lift type? Why? I earnestly ask all fellow sailors for your advice!
Everything I’ve seen uses swing-type valves; the specific reason is unclear. Those who are aware of it please provide more information.
A dedicated reciprocating compressor outlet check valve should be used. Both ordinary swing-type and lifting-type ones perform poorly, especially when dealing with large volumes of material. The type we designed to use was swing-type, with significant backflow; it has been changed now.

Because the gas is not continuous but pulsating, the disc of a swing check valve opens and closes frequently, which makes it prone to damage. Find the internal structure diagrams of two types of check valves, and it will be clear at a glance.
We use the lift-type ones; the swing-type ones have frequent power usage which can lead to damage.

Over time, the valve rod wears away and the valve stops functioning. “The “rotary” check valve also has this problem: when the air flow is unstable, its pin is prone to wear. When worn to a certain extent, the sealing performance of the valve disc declines. The type that has proven effective for us is the \"valve disc check valve\" (Shanghai Heerbig), and no issues have been found during each inspection.
