How to calculate the amount of anti-corrosion paint needed?
Ask the paint manufacturers you use; they will tell you how thick the paint should be per square meter and how many kilograms are needed
Calculations are performed for surface roughness, dry film thickness of the coating, number of coating layers, specific gravity of the coating, solid volume fraction of the product, and loss coefficient, among other parameters
The common practice is to select a amount of 0.3 kilograms to 0.6 kilograms per square meter.
Several factors need to be considered when calculating the amount of paint required: 1. Paint application rate, 2. Desired film thickness, 3. Loss factor, 4. Area
The most important parameter is the coating area; based on experience, it’s possible to determine how much area can be covered per kilogram of paint when there is a sufficient margin. This can be calculated through simple multiplication. This is exactly how we calculate the amount needed for anti-corrosion heat shrink sleeves or heat shrink tapes that we sell!
I hope you can list the varieties and the typical usage amounts
The relevant design units will provide what is required
The exact amount used is not clear, but at the time of project settlement, it is calculated based on the weight of the steel structure that has been painted. Various factors such as whether rust removal was done, and how many coats of paint were applied, are also taken into consideration during the evaluation. I hope this will be helpful to everyone.
