The outer diameter of the purchased DN80 polypropylene pipe is 1 mm too small, which results in the standard DN80 aeration head still being loose after installation. How to solve it at the lowest cost? If the original pipe meets absolute standards, pressing it on directly will ensure a secure fit. This problem won’t occur. I tried welding them together using polypropylene electrodes and heat fusion welding, but the connection between the electrodes and the aeration head wasn’t very secure. It’s probably a problem with the welding rod; is there a special welding rod designed for welding polypropylene and polyethylene together? Or would any glue work? This pipeline is used in the wastewater treatment section and is likely to be somewhat corrosive.
Reply 1# yp260: It is possible to use polyethylene welding rods; Connecting with glue is also an option ; The company has used both connection methods for its two sets of wastewater systems; one of them has been in use for 6 years and the other for 3 years
Be sure to use thermoplastic polyethylene for polyethylene welding electrodes – don’t get it wrong!
Thank you to everyone above; are there any requirements if glue is used? The aeration head remains underwater the whole time – won’t the glue come off? If it’s glued directly on, won’t it be inconvenient to repair it if something breaks in the future? For example, clogged aeration nozzles and things like that
