When there is no liquid level at the bottom of the vapor column, is it difficult to increase the temperature at the bottom of the column in terms of operation? I don’t know why, when the liquid level at the bottom of the vaporization tower is low, it’s not possible to increase the temperature at the bottom of the tower during operation. Could someone with expertise explain this in detail?
My understanding is that, under normal operation, the reboiler at the bottom of the tower generally operates on the principle of thermal siphonage: as the hot liquid medium rises, cold liquid medium continuously fills in its place. When the bottom liquid level is empty, this mode of heat transfer is lost, resulting in an inability to raise the bottom temperature of the tower.
When the liquid level at the bottom of the tower is low, the heat exchange area of the reboiler is small, resulting in poor heating – is that how it can be understood?
The liquid level at the bottom of the tower is completely empty; there is no heat exchange at all. Since steam is not being consumed, its volume remains unchanged, and therefore the temperature cannot rise
