On the DCS screen, the upper limit for the steam flow meter’s flow rate is 60,000, and the lower limit is 0. What is the minimum range of the steam flow meter? How to calculate the minimum range?
Well, DCS is used to receive signals from flow meters; the flow range can be determined mainly by choosing the appropriate flow meter for use on site. As for what the minimum range is, I’m not quite sure what the original poster means.
I have no idea what the original poster means. The range on the DCS is set, and it is usually the same as the range at the site! What kind of flow meter are you using! ?

However, under normal circumstances, a single measurement at the site involves detecting the differential pressure signal, which is then sent to the DCS where it is squared before being displayed as a specific numerical value on the screen. Percentages can also be displayed. It has nothing to do with the upper limit range of 60,000 you mentioned. I’m not sure if I made myself clear? One more thing: generally, the range of transmitters used for measuring flow in the field is expressed in terms of differential pressure (KPa). Also, LZ, you need to specify what instruments you used on site to measure the flow rate
Could the minimum range be related to the range ratio?
The maximum and minimum ranges of the steam flow meter are not necessarily related to the DCS range settings. The range setting on the DCS screen is actually corresponding to the 4-20mA analog output of the instrument. Regarding the measurement range of the flow meter itself, the normal maximum/minimum flow rates can only be determined through calculation. The maximum/minimum flow rates here generally refer to the flow rates that ensure measurement accuracy, rather than the maximum/minimum flow rates that the instrument itself is capable of measuring. The range ratio commonly referred to is the maximum/minimum flow ratio that an instrument can measure while maintaining measurement accuracy.
