The main issue is as mentioned in the title; I’m not sure if everyone understands it. According to petrochemical regulations, how should such warehouses be defined? How are the distances from other Class A and Class C installations defined, as well as the distances from Class C warehouses? :Q
Article 3.1.4 of the Building Code stipulates that when items with different fire hazards are stored in the same warehouse or within any fire compartment of a warehouse, the fire hazard classification for that warehouse or fire compartment shall be determined based on the category with the highest fire hazard among them. Undoubtedly, the fire hazard classification of this warehouse is Class A. If you still don’t understand, you can refer to the interpretation of this article.

It cannot be said that the entire warehouse is classified as having a Class A fire hazard; rather, it is the separate compartments in which Class A hazardous chemicals are stored that fall under Class A classification. However, these compartments must meet certain fire resistance requirements – in particular, the fire resistance rating of the firewalls must be no less than 4 hours. These compartments should be located along the exterior walls, while the rest of the warehouse remains classified as having a Class C fire hazard. If no fire compartments are installed, then the entire warehouse is classified as Class A.
