In reciprocating compressors that operate in a cyclic manner, due to the high pressures they are subjected to – around 250 kilograms – along with a pressure difference of six to seven kilograms, could it be that the flow rate cannot be increased because of leaks in the check valves? Internal leakage in a check valve affects the flow rate, as leakage from either the outlet valve or the inlet valve causes some of the gas to be expelled and then drawn back in, without entering the system. The compressor does some unnecessary work.
Does a check valve refer to the one located at the compressor’s exhaust port? Is there a large pressure difference before and after the check valve? If the difference is large, it will have an impact on the air volume. There are many reasons that can affect the air volume, such as insufficient intake pressure or too high an intake temperature
