The sulfur content in natural gas is increasing nowadays. Our facility uses an alkaline washing system, but it has not been effective so far. The main reason for this is severe blockages in the pipelines. Both the pipelines and equipment are made of stainless steel, but what causes the blockages is mostly something like sludge. Is there any way to prevent such blockages from occurring?

In our system, desulfurization is first carried out using N-methyldiethanolamine, after which the mixture goes into a precision desulfurization tower; there is no alkali washing step, and after desulfurization the hydrogen sulfide concentration is generally reduced to around 10PPM
