What do people use a foreign language to do once they have learned it?

Before doing anything, one must consider the purpose. Learning a foreign language requires a great deal of time and effort, and mastering it can be described as a process that takes years to achieve. There’s a saying that life isn’t about having good cards in your hand, but about playing those cards well. I only agree with the second half, and I think what’s even more important is where you play cards and who you play with. So, with the skill of speaking a foreign language at their disposal, where does everyone use it, and what benefits do they gain from it?
Reply to 1# jeffreytang77: I’ll start first – the most common thing I’ve done using my foreign language skills is changing jobs. An essential thing that men do out of their natural instincts is to date women.
I study English for career advancement; working in a foreign company, English is a key to getting ahead – without it, it’s impossible to survive or progress.

Reply to 3#: Being cautious, I would say that foreign companies, especially those with a history of several hundred years, are quite good. They offer comprehensive benefits, with amounts that are much higher than those in state-owned companies. There is also substantial reimbursement for business trips, and some even provide dedicated funds for entertainment. Congratulations, brother – your future is bright!

Education in China might have its drawbacks. Ordinary people don’t have that much English. Spend so much time learning.
