Can the experimental glassware in R&D laboratories be replaced with a recirculating water system? Could you please explain the reason? If possible, could you please explain the precautions for use?
It is better not to use it, as circulating water requires cooling facilities such as cooling towers; moreover, during the cooling process, air, dust and other impurities get mixed into the circulating water, which can dirty the experimental equipment and make it difficult to clean. Additionally, the temperature of circulating water is higher than that of fresh water, which is not favorable for the experimental setup
Tap water is readily available in the laboratory; it’s easy to obtain and clean. Why go the extra effort of setting up a circulating water system? Recycled water is dirtier than tap water; it is designed for use with steel equipment and is not suitable for glass equipment.
We use a tap water system, not only because circulating water is relatively dirty, but also because the water used in the laboratory often contains chemicals and other substances; if it is returned to the circulating water system, it could contaminate it.

I think the main issue is the inefficiency; if switching to recycled water can reduce operating costs (by comparing the investment required for the conversion with the cost of using tap water over N years), then it is feasible to do so.
Just use a direct cooling system – it will definitely cost less than modifying the circulating water system, and it also allows for precise temperature control
The space is quite large; it’s mainly used for research and testing. There are around twenty fume hoods, and each of them requires circulating water
