The allowable stress at the design temperature can also be obtained by consulting tables, depending on the material chosen – for example, 20R – and simply looking up the corresponding values. I can’t find the books from my school days right now, but I remember it being calculated in this way. When calculating the wall thickness, it’s also necessary to include a margin for corrosion, and then round the result to the standard steel plate thickness, which gives us the desired thickness. Additionally, the stiffness of the container must be taken into account, so that it doesn’t deform once placed in use. If your tower is low, a thickness of 10 units should be sufficient for ensuring stiffness. Let’s discuss this further together
