I would like to ask the experts what 11/2” means. I saw this designation 20615-2009 on the nominal size of a pipe fitting; I couldn’t figure out what it refers to

It seems that the unit of feet is rarely used for pressure vessels; inches are what’s used instead. Dozens of inches; I haven’t heard of anything in a few feet.

The pipe diameter in American systems is generally measured in inches. . I’ve hardly ever seen it expressed in feet..
What you are referring to is the nominal size designation method used in the American system. In the HG/T20615-2009 standard, P241 includes a table that shows the correspondence between the corresponding NPS (nominal size in the American system) and DN values. And on page P242, in the normative reference documents, there is “Definition and selection of DN (nominal size) for pipe components” – GB/T 1047.
