Could some experienced forum members explain the advantages and disadvantages of upstream-type external heat exchangers and downstream-type external heat exchangers?
In the 1970s and 1980s, they were generally designed with upstream-type external heat exchangers, and the head pressure of the compressors was relatively low~~~ After the 1990s, downstream-type external heat exchangers were developed; the head pressure of the compressors became higher, and the layout of the water supply and drainage pipes was also more rational~~~ The heat extraction capacity of upstream-type systems is relatively low (under 20 million kcal/h per unit), while that of downstream-type systems is higher, with the maximum capacity reaching 70 million kcal/h per unit~~~
