Overview of the results: High-purity metallic zinc has a wide range of applications; it can be used to manufacture alloys such as brass, bronze, and zinc die-casting alloys, as well as galvanized iron, dry batteries, fireworks, zinc sheets, and chemical reagents. The present invention is a method for producing high-purity metallic zinc using low-grade zinc oxide ore as raw material, which features simple processing and low costs. By crushing the raw material zinc oxide ore powder, leaching it with a strong alkaline solution, filtering and removing the residue, adding a separating agent to the filtrate, stirring, filtering to separate the precipitate, and then carrying out electrolysis, metal zinc with a purity of 99.00~99.95% is obtained through deposition. II. Functional Features 1. Compared with traditional high-temperature evaporation-acid dissolution-electrolysis methods, this process is simpler and easier to control. 2. The raw material used in the process is low-quality zinc oxide ore that has been unused for a long time and contains less than 30% zinc, which reduces production costs by about 50%. 3. The process does not require high-temperature burning. 4. Both types of waste residues generated during the process can be utilized, resulting in good economic and social benefits.
