The process pressure ranges from -3 to 10 mbarg, and the desired calibration range is -15 to 15 mbarg. The current prices are higher for Rosemont, lower for Eja, and the lowest for ABB. With a limited budget but concerns about quality, which one should be chosen? Can I choose ABB? Everyone, please give some suggestions ; At the same time, considering temperature transmitters from ABB and E+H, which one is better? Are there any other brands with a good cost-performance ratio?

Having been involved in instrument procurement for a long time, I have firsthand experience and knowledge regarding the technical specifications, production processes, quality assurance systems, and after-sales technical support for pressure and temperature transmitters from brands such as EMERSON, EJA, ABB, and E+H. The following suggestions are made to the poster: 1) It is recommended that pressure transmitters and temperature transmitters be of the same brand, as this will result in lower prices and ensure similar delivery times, thereby meeting the requirements for on-site use. If this approach is adopted, then the EJA is disqualified, because as far as I know, the EJA does not have a temperature transmitter. 2) Since ABB offers the lowest price, the original poster can purchase its products to achieve the best cost-performance ratio. I have purchased a considerable number of ABB transmitters. As a multinational corporation with a wide range of instrumentation products, ABB has a strict quality assurance system, so you can purchase from them with confidence. 3) If the client still has concerns, it is possible to stipulate in writing at the time of signing the contract that, before the transmitter leaves the factory, the client can attend the production site to witness the quality inspection (i.e., FAT). It is certain that ABB, encountering a client like this one, will hold them in high regard and be even more cautious.
ABB has factories in China; where are they?
ABB’s transmitters are all counterfeit; their user interface is not user-friendly, and the customer service is extremely rude when you call them. I highly do not recommend them
They are all good transmitters, but be sure to choose genuine products; considering overall cost-performance, EJA is a great choice! EMERSON is expensive, but the after-sales service is great!

Floor 2 thought it was some major client, talking about things like FAT and expressing admiration – is that really necessary? It’s also the kind of thing that professionals in instrument procurement would do – conducting FAT tests on just a few transmitters; a completely naive way of thinking. It’s just a few transmitters; no manufacturer will treat you as mentioned on the second floor, especially since you claim to be involved in instrument procurement for a long time. With thousands of transmitter projects, I’ve never seen any supplier show any signs of admiration or anything similar. Have you worked at Shell in the South China Sea? Have you done Saiko? Have you worked at the Qingdao large-scale oil refinery? Have you worked on the Fushun Petrochemical project? It’s about purchases in the thousands or tens of thousands of units; once the technical specifications and contract terms are agreed upon, delivery can proceed. I suggest to the original poster that if the quantity is only around 10 units, it’s sufficient to purchase them from a local distributor; no manufacturer will take such a small order seriously. By the way, among transmitter products, ABB’s products are the least cost-effective of the three mentioned by the original poster. Just look at the number of procurement opportunities for ABB transmitters in large domestic projects to find out.
What 6L said matches what I thought, hehe. ABB’s instrumentation products are passable in terms of analysis, but their transmitters are terrible. I encountered this once before: they claimed to support HART technology. When I used a handheld device to try to communicate with it, it was possible to establish a connection, but I couldn’t change any parameters. I had to call them and download a patch from their website myself. Ugh, I ended up having to operate those annoying buttons manually, and those buttons were even hidden under the label. Ugh, I’ve never used their products again since then
We basically use Yokogawa EJA in our projects
Our company purchased Rossmount pressure transmitters worth over two million yuan, and one 475 model was included in the order. It’s important to note that some of these devices require installation accessories such as mounting brackets; these details must be specified in the contract. We didn’t know this at the time of signing the contract, so those accessories weren’t provided, and we had to purchase them from Rossmont again, which incurred additional costs. They also require full payment before shipping
I’ve used ABB’s wedge flow meters; the transmitter interface associated with the wedge tube isn’t very good. Additionally, the wedge tube imposes extremely high requirements regarding pipeline stress and levelness. I remember that a total of 3 such meters were used during the technical upgrade, and the measurement values differed significantly from the actual values. The technician sent by the manufacturer was a young guy who seemed quite skilled, but even after spending half a day on it, the situation still remained poor~
I have been using transmitters from ROSEMOUNT, EJA, and ABB for several years now. Based on my experience, in applications involving low or very low pressure measurements, ROSEMOUNT’s transmitters are the most reliable. In other aspects, they are not significantly different from EJA’s transmitters. ABB’s transmitters perform worse compared to these two brands, with extremely poor stability regarding zero drift. What was said upstairs is very good; I agree with that as well. ABB’s instrumentation products are passable in terms of analysis, but their transmitters and electromagnetic flowmeters are of poor quality – there is a significant difference in quality compared to some other foreign brands.
