How do people deal with sand holes in pipes that are not under high pressure? There are sand holes in the hydrogen pipelines of my company, but the leakage isn’t severe – only a small amount of hydrogen is leaking. What is the best method to seal these leaks?

We use the method of injecting glue by hitting the joints.
The method of injecting glue into the gasket is still the most effective; if there are many sand holes, it needs to be replaced, as otherwise the risks are too great.
We first clamp the pipe at the leak site using a clamp, and then inject sealant to seal it off; however, this is only a temporary solution. Once there is an opportunity for shutdown and maintenance, the faulty part will be replaced with a proper one and welded back together.

The leak can be sealed with a clip or AB glue, but it’s better to stop the vehicle and replace it.
I’m not sure what the pressure is in your hydrogen pipelines, nor how it relates to production – for example, whether production must stop if there’s no hydrogen available. However, to ensure normal production can continue, it’s recommended to use injection molding, as it’s a safer approach; Also, if the pipeline’s pressure rating is high, it’s better to stop and carry out repairs, after all, hydrogen has a very wide explosion range. In a chemical plant, safety comes first above everything else.
