I have a question for those who work in design: in air separation plant design, what roles do the air separation plant manufacturers and the design institutes play respectively? I have always been confused: a air separation project always requires the involvement of both air separation equipment manufacturers and design institutes. When it comes to the processes involved, people usually mention the processes used by Hangyang or Chuan Kong. Since these companies also possess design capabilities, why is the involvement of design institutes still necessary? Please, a fellow traveler, help me figure this out. Thanks in advance!
I think, in simple terms, it involves two aspects: process package design and engineering design. Of course, it can all be entrusted to the air separation plant manufacturers, provided that their design qualifications comply with regulations.
