Questions regarding the foundation of indoor pumps

Section 3.1.2 of Part 2 of HG/T 20546 specifies that the minimum clear distance from the end face or foundation of pumps inside a building to columns or walls should be 1 meter. Are all designers adhering to this requirement? I wonder if a distance of 1m between the pump foundation and the wall is too large? :)
1 meter isn’t very large; there need to be pipes, valves, and some space for operation

Depending on the pump model and specifications as well as the on-site conditions, appropriate adjustments can be made.
In practice, we don’t follow this standard strictly; generally, leaving 0.5 to 0.6 meters is sufficient. Of course, if there is enough space, 1 to 1.2 meters is also acceptable

It’s not that big; there has to be some space for maintenance
