The level gauges on tank trucks are generally rotary in design; 0m is indicated at the bottom and the maximum level is indicated at the top. Before taking a reading, turn the gauge to the highest position first, then loosen the small screw at the front of the gauge to allow gas and liquid to emerge. Once only gas is coming out, slowly rotate the gauge downward until liquid starts to emerge; the corresponding height will indicate the liquid level in the tank truck. Be careful while operating! Additionally, the emergency shut-off valves on tank trucks are generally divided into two types: mechanical and hydraulic. In the hydraulic type, a manual oil pump is used to reach a pressure of 4 MPa in order to open the valve; in the mechanical type, a spring is pulled by hand to open the valve. Their purpose is to allow for remote control of the valve by opening it from behind the tank’s container in case of an emergency (such as a leak in the tank truck or the filling hoses/valves), thereby enabling immediate isolation of the tank truck! !
