About reducers

Guys: There is a Siemens reducer with a brake device, and now that the brake has stopped working, management wants us to continue using it so as not to disrupt production. I was wondering if reversing the rotation after the material has been fed in could cause any problems. The gear on the high-speed side is helical.
Reply 1# gaomiaom: The check valve on the conveyor belt reducer serves to prevent the belt carrying the load from sliding backward in case of a sudden stop during feeding. The reducer itself can rotate in both directions; if sudden stops during operation are not a concern, it is still feasible to use it in that way.
