Without the motor nameplate, what methods can be used to determine the motor’s rated voltage and power rating?
A straightforward approach is to check whether a star connection or a delta connection is used inside the junction box, estimate the diameter of the wires leading out, and then make a judgment based on their size and length (this relies on experience). There are many with a star connection of 5.5KW or less. There is another method: look up the information using data such as the core length, diameter, and number of slots in specialized reference books, which can be found in motor maintenance manuals. A burned-out motor can be disassembled to examine the winding connections; the motor’s power can then be calculated by referring to the number of parallel branches, the number of windings, and the diameter of each wire.
