The take over passes through the jacket and the inner cylinder; is it possible to weld it directly to the outer jacket as well, when welding it to the inner cylinder body, so that there’s no need to trim the edge of the outer jacket?

Oh, thank you. I’m not sure why, but generally, it’s the joint where the pipe is welded to the inner cylinder that requires flanging of the jacket, rather than welding the pipe directly to the jacket

Reply 1# yfscm: The tube that passes through the jacket and the inner cylinder should not be welded to the inner cylinder body, nor should it be directly welded to the outer jacket. The outer jacket should be edged or separated with a sleeve.
I indeed didn’t see any instances of direct welding to the jacket. Is it not allowed (no specific regulations were seen), or is it better to avoid it? I’m a bit confused
Reply to 6# yfscm: For welding such a type of structural joint to the inner cylinder, it seems that an internal bevel weld must be carried out from inside the inner cylinder.

It is generally not recommended to use it; however, if the device is too small and this structure is unavoidable, then it has to be used.
If welding is done on both the inside and outside, stress will be generated due to deformation from welding, which is unsafe
I agree with the view from the 10th floor: welding both the inner and outer parts generates welding stress. If the outer tube is welded to the pipe after the inner tube has been welded, it will result in fixed constraints, preventing the stress from being released and increasing the risk of damage. This is especially problematic for containers subject to stress corrosion!
