Filter press cylinder sealing issues

Our facility is equipped with two two-way, four-channel chamber-type automatic filter presses used to remove impurities such as kaolin from wax liquids. Within less than two years, the seals in the cylinders failed, forcing the machines to be shut down for maintenance. Replacing the cylinder seals is very troublesome; it requires lifting nearly 20 filter plates. Sealing material: Polyurethane D360. Are there any other more durable seals available? Which type of sealing structure provides a better sealing effect?

Hehe, there’s no issue with the sealing structure; it mainly depends on the polyurethane material used. The most important factor is the guidance system of the cylinder – choosing an inappropriate guide ring directly affects the lifespan of both the cylinder and the seals. It is recommended to use phenolic cloth-reinforced rings; of course, this makes the cost a bit higher.
