Measures to prevent boiler tube explosions and pipeline inspection after shutdown

Boiler tube rupture is a common phenomenon among accidents that occur in boilers. To prevent such ruptures, anti-wear shields are installed on the heating surfaces, or coatings are applied; refractory bricks and anti-wear coatings are also used to protect the water wall tubes. In the case of our circulating fluidized bed boilers, wear is quite severe – mainly because no major repairs were carried out during the first five years, which led to a situation where the boilers became uncontrollable. The only solution was to replace the various heating surfaces, followed by the use of the aforementioned measures to reduce the frequency of tube ruptures. Additionally, after the boilers are shut down, manual inspections of the tubes are conducted, with each tube being checked by hand; those with thinner walls are replaced or fitted with anti-wear shields. How do you guys conduct the inspections? Could you share that?
