What is the reason for the high pressure at the secondary outlet of the BOG compressor in our plant?
Check the secondary exhaust valve and the tertiary intake valve, as these may cause insufficient intake volume at the tertiary stage.
1 It is likely that the secondary exhaust valve is damaged, as indicated by excessively high valve temperatures and rising pressure; check whether oil is being supplied to this valve as well. The secondary drain valve should be opened immediately. Notify the shift leader to carry out an emergency shutdown. 2 Check the tertiary inlet air valve. Temperature, pressure. Is there anything abnormal?
Generally, it is the secondary suction valve that fails, because the exhaust pressure of the compressor is the pressure after exhaustion, not the pressure inside the cylinder. In certain cases, if it is at the fourth level of compression and the third-stage exhaust valve gets stuck and is forced open, this can also result in excessive pressure at the second stage of exhaust. Thus, a false alarm is issued.
The tertiary inlet valve is likely to be clogged
It is possible that the cooling water pipes have not been cleaned for a long time, and scale formation has caused poor flow of cold water
The cylinder compression ratio is too high due to a leak in the inlet valve or a leak in the piston ring of the next stage
This situation usually occurs due to a problem with the valve at the next lower level; it is recommended to check the third-stage exhaust valve and intake valve.
