Selection between electromagnetic variable-speed motor control and frequency conversion motor control?

For screw conveyors where the load during startup and operation is similar, should electromagnetic speed control or frequency converter speed control be chosen? It is said that electromagnetic speed control provides constant torque; can a frequency converter drive the machine at startup?
:Based on what we see on site, the augers can be equipped with frequency converters, as we have two augers that use such converters. As for the principle, it is. . . ? Because I’m not majoring in electrical engineering, so... . . . . . . . :P:L
From what I understand, the original auger couldn’t start after a frequency converter was installed; it wasn’t successful, which is why I have doubts. Please seek guidance from those with expertise in electrical engineering.
