Dear DX team members, have you encountered situations at your methanol washing sites where the CO level reached several dozen ppm? There are no signs of leaks at those sites, but gas detectors indicated CO levels of several dozen ppm. Has this kind of phenomenon occurred in anyone’s facilities? What are the main causes?
It must be due to poor sealing in the high-pressure section (cold zone); the cause should be traced back to the source, such as pipe flanges and heat exchangers.
This is easy to handle – just check where the exhaust emissions are coming from, and whether there are any other leaks, as well as whether your flares are working properly.
Guys, stop posting nonsense! There are no leakage points. Our exhaust is discharged at a height of 72 meters; the exhaust outlet is equipped with a silencer covered with a rain shield. When there is no wind, the exhaust gases may be pushed downward slightly, and this could be one of the reasons
It’s caused by exhaust fumes; a few dozen PPM isn’t considered high.
It is still caused by a slight leak in the system; with the exhaust vent being so high, even in still air it can only affect other areas, and it is impossible for it to impact the low-temperature methanol washing site. Another possibility is that there is a leak in the methanol-rich fluid, caused by the desorption of CO dissolved in it.
