A distillation simulation of a tray tower was carried out in Aspen, and the obtained results were fed into the W-trayrating software for further analysis; it was found that many trays suffered from liquid flooding in the downcomers. . . What’s going on? ? ? ? ?

Aspen is generally used for calculations related to distillation, as well as for simple hydraulic calculations of trays. If the downcomer is not suitable, it is likely due to an improper hydraulic design of the tower. Because Aspen does not provide the hydraulic dimensions of the tower; if only fractionation calculations are to be carried out.
I’ve encountered the same problem as well. I was wondering if there’s any way to set it up.
