Seeking advice: Haha, here’s what happened: Last month, during a major maintenance session in the workshop, for some reason the granulator was raised by a little over 5 cm. As a result, after starting up the machine – especially lately – fertilizer often leaks from the front of it, and once it starts leaking, it keeps leaking... At first people used shovels to clean it up, but later a forklift was used instead... I’m really puzzled; I’m seeking advice on why this is happening. There’s also one particular aspect: fertilizer only leaks when the particles are small; this kind of problem rarely occurred when producing MAP before. PS: My factory produces potassium sulfate-based compound fertilizers; one production line can produce over 120,000 tons per year.........
This post was last edited by Chemical Gas Purification on 2011-6-18 at 12:01. The original poster should check whether the adjusted inclination is appropriate. Is there a problem? Also, does a smaller particle size lead to poor fluidity, resulting in accumulation and subsequent fertilizer leakage?

But production has been going on continuously, as the workers in the workshop don’t want to stop the machine. Eventually, only 2 hours were allowed for shutdown to carry out repairs. Upon investigation, it was found that the welding of the internal material return screw hadn’t been done properly during maintenance; as a result, small particles and fine powder flowed along this screw toward the front of the machine, thereby blocking it. Then another problem arose: once the internal material return screw became blocked, large amounts of small particles and fine powder came out of the granulator, and the amount of material flowing through the external return system also increased significantly. This put extra strain on the elevators and screening equipment, and the current consumption of the granulator while it was in operation increased as well. Operating the machine became very difficult; there were hardly any large particles produced, and the output was low... Ugh, it’s frustrating – I get scolded every day.
You must be using a 4.25-meter spray granulation machine. The internal return material cannot be removed; it’s sufficient to cut off a small amount of it at the machine head. Do not send all of it back to the guide plate area – sending it to the material lifting plate area is enough. Also, check whether the height of your guide plate is insufficient. It should be simple.
Add a higher retaining ring to adjust the angle of the material dumping screw.
The temporary solution is to create a hopper below the head, which is connected to a bucket elevator or belt via a feed pipe.
