Membrane PSA is a device used for separating hydrogen. I’m new to the oil refining industry; at first I only knew about PSA, but gradually I understood that it is used for separating hydrogen, and it’s especially important for devices that consume hydrogen!
Membrane and PSA are two different technologies. Separation of hydrogen-containing mixtures can be achieved in all cases. However, its functions and applications go far beyond that.
Reply 1# The column is quite demanding; membrane technology is used for concentration enhancement in applications where high concentrations are not required, while PSA is a purification technique suitable for applications with higher concentration requirements. The two can also be used together for the recovery of hydrogen at low pressure and low concentration.
