As the title suggests: Why don’t the butterfly valves at the top of the stabilizer tower have upstream and downstream manual valves? Does anyone have it?
It is permissible not to provide a manual valve for butterfly valves, but such valves must be equipped with a manual operating mechanism； If the butterfly valves are of good quality, there will be no problems in using them; butterfly valves used at the top of distillation towers are undoubtedly suitable for this purpose. If the quality of the butterfly valves is poor and problems arise frequently, it is easier to use manual valves to shut them off for inspection and maintenance
