The product obtained by decomposing phosphate rock with sulfuric acid is known as ordinary calcium phosphate, abbreviated as OPCP. Its main components are Ca(H2PO4)2·H2O, anhydrous calcium sulfate, and a small amount of phosphoric acid; it contains 14%–20% effective P2O5. Approximately 80%–95% of this substance is soluble in water, making it a water-soluble, rapidly available phosphorus fertilizer. It can be used directly as a phosphorus fertilizer or in the production of compound fertilizers.
