Experts: What are the hazards associated with the use of foundation shims that do not meet the requirements during the installation of the steel framework in urea plants? Does anyone have any knowledge or standards related to shims? Thank you!
There are many specifications regarding the installation of shims; these are generally covered in the specifications for equipment installation, such as SH3542, HGJ209, etc. Shims are the weight-bearing components used before the secondary grouting of equipment, and the specifications, quantity, and arrangement of these shims are detailed in relevant standards.
Since it is a steel structure, it is recommended that the original poster check SH3507 and GB50205, as they are both standard specifications for steel structure construction.

It depends on which aspect does not meet the requirements.
Following the specifications is of course a basic requirement; insufficient numbers of shims during installation may lead to high local pressure on the foundation, thereby damaging it.
