A high-temperature and high-pressure vessel is being designed; the main bolts are tentatively specified as M160. Large-diameter double-ended studs in accordance with standard HG/T21572-1995 are to be used, following the relevant design guidelines. However, the maximum value specified in that standard seems to be M140. There is no experience with using bolts of larger diameter, so I would appreciate guidance on whether this approach is appropriate The material is the 25xxx type (I can’t remember the exact grade). Another option is to follow ASME standards; the maximum specified value there is M230. However, I lack experience in this area, and it’s also complicated to specify the requirements for material procurement. I would like to ask everyone how to choose studs and stretchers of M160 size or larger! ! !
Screws are easy to handle – one can create the designs themselves. As for stretchers, it’s necessary to consult the manufacturer. If the manufacturer does not produce stretchers of that size, then the screws will have to be used instead, along with some adjustments to the structure. Try to get one that is below the M140, please
