I would like to ask everyone: is there a standard formula for the temperature difference at the hot side of the main heat exchanger? And what is the temperature difference calculated using this method? Thank you so much! {:1_90:}
The difference between the inlet temperature of the heat exchanger in that group and its outlet temperature is the hot-side temperature difference. It’s not the case that a smaller hot-side temperature difference is better; an excessively small difference will result in an increased cold-side temperature difference for that heat exchanger. The temperature difference at the hot end for external compression is generally kept within 2 degrees, while it is better to keep the temperature difference at the hot end for internal compression within 5 degrees.
Thank you, **Empire. For a given main heat exchanger, there is more than one air inlet stream, and the flow rate, temperature, pressure, etc., of each stream are also different. In such cases, how is the average air inlet temperature typically calculated? Thank you.
