After today’s interview, I think it’s really important to learn spoken English; it’s crucial to be able to express oneself in a way that foreigners can understand. Moreover, I believe that learning *English should be a daily practice, with no interruptions allowed.
Which company is LZ going to interview at? Are there any old folks out there too? In general automation roles, these companies usually have the HR department give you an English test; in the case of internal referrals, the HR department just follows the established procedures. What really matters is the opinion of the manager in charge of that position.
Reply to 4# sunray_sh: If it’s a technical engineer, that’s probably all there is. For those in sales or project management roles, interviews are likely to be in English; those who know foreign languages earn more, so listen and practice as much as possible in your free time
I mean, haha, those in technical roles are all recommended internally; it’s more of a formality – as long as one can understand the documents, that’s enough. But those in sales need to have good spoken language skills, and unfortunately few people in technical roles meet this standard... I can’t even form a complete sentence now; I speak in a mix of Chinese and English all the time. Be ready with a dictionary to look up information.
Filler English – I’ve seen it plenty. During an interview, the boss asked me how good my English was Me: Sure, I just almost forgot it; I can pick it up again. BOSS: Can I introduce myself first? Me: Of course not~~~ It’s passed....
Not that absolute. Many in the sales market also recommend it. The success rate for recommendations and admissions should be at least 5:1. It is usually recommended to go straight to the direct manager first; only once the manager approves it is it sent to HR, so HR’s role is merely to check the basic requirements.
Tragedy! I only know 25 English letters
