Is there anyone who is familiar with Bechtel? I went for an interview last week; I think I’ll get an offer. The base location is in Changning, Shanghai, and the salary is around 13K. I graduated six years ago – please share some advice!
The company is good; both its software and hardware are at a cutting-edge level, and it has a promising future
It is said that one would go to the United States for a year of training, which actually amounts to doing work; I’m not sure if this system still exists nowadays. This salary is considered average in foreign-owned engineering companies.
Reply to 4# eddiedong: I’m going to the US for 3–10 months as part of a project. I received an offer of 14K today; I’m still hesitating. I’m currently in ZJG DC, where the salary is 9K. Life here is quite comfortable, and there are good prospects for career development in Shanghai. It’s a dilemma!
They say my job mainly involves office work, and there won’t be many business trips in the future
What is ZJG DC? Could you please provide a detailed explanation in Chinese?
It is said that DC has a good corporate culture. It depends on how you want to proceed; an engineering company definitely requires overtime work, and business trips are also inevitable. The pace will definitely be faster than before. This salary is at the average level in Shanghai engineering companies.
Reply to 10# eddiedong: This line is too narrow. At my current workplace, there’s someone who used to work at Dow Chemical; he’s really talented
