Under the regulations governing fixed and storage containers, Q235B can only be used as the welding steel mentioned in the first category, that is, for components such as lugs and supports other than gussets

According to standard GB3274, the allowable limits for P and S content in Q235B steel plates are ≤0.045%. However, the new regulations specify that for steel plates intended for use in pressure vessels, the P content should be ≤0.030% and the S content ≤0.020%. If the material certificate shows that the P and S contents in the Q235B steel plate are within these limits, then it can be used; when placing orders, it is possible to request the manufacturer to control these P and S contents.
