Reply to 3# mozhiyang: Selexol was used in the early 1980s for removing CO2 from syngas, and later it was developed for the selective removal of acidic gases from gases. In the 1980s, the Nanjing Research Institute of Chemical Engineering in China conducted research and developed an absorption solvent with physical and chemical properties similar to those of Selexol; this solvent was named NHD. In 1984, it was approved by the Ministry of Chemical Industry as part of the NHD purification process. In 1993, the first industrial demonstration plant was built, using Texaco-based gas generation along with NHD for desulfurization and decarburization, with an annual production capacity of 80,000 tons of synthetic ammonia. After desulfurization and decarburization using NHD, the resulting gas had reduced CO2 levels
